Dr Glenda E. Arnold-Heon was born and raised in Belize City, Belize, where she was a primary dancer with the nation’s highly acclaimed Bob Reneau Dance Company.
With this group she toured nationally and internationally, engaging in cultural exchange performances at the State Department and the Pentagon in Washington, DC. She later migrated to the United States of America and has performed in motion pictures, on television shows, and held lead roles in numerous stage productions as a singer, dancer and actress. Much of her later years in show business have been spent as a songwriter/recording artist/entertainer, under the stage name, Bella Carib, with six published albums and various singles which embody the cultural traditions of Belize, including an epic of Belize musical which she wrote, produced, as well as performed the lead character.
Dr. Arnold-Heon holds both Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Science degrees in Education with specialization in International and Intercultural fields, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre/Humanities from the University of Southern California, where she also served as a professor of dance in its prestigious School of Theatre for four years. In these former years, she was also Founder, Artistic Director and Choreographer of Ballet Socariba, a Caribbean-American dance company. Today, she is Owner/Executive & Artistic Director of The Global Beat Multi-Cultural Center – Bella Carib Academy of the Arts in Los Angeles. This facility has become a cornerstone for Arts, Education and Recreation.
Among a myriad of creative, scholarly and professional achievements and honors, both nationally and internationally, Dr Glenda E. Arnold-Heon (Bella Carib) was presented with certificates, commendations and recognition from a variety of agencies, institutions and government officials. Just to name a few, that list includes the former Prime Minister of Belize, Honorable Manuel Esquivel, the current Prime Minister of Belize, Honorable Dean Barrow, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade in Belize, the Honorable Wilfred P. Elrington, the Office of the Consulate of Belize in Los Angeles, and Supervisor Mark Ridley Thomas, Second District, County of Los Angeles.
