Ariana Savalas may be a newcomer to the music scene but her sound echoes music of another era. As she makes her way to the stage, she evokes the sheer glamour and talent of movie star idols like Rita Hayworth and Veronica Lake. But when she sings, her voice and sound harkens back to the days of Etta James and Dinah Washington.
The youngest daughter of legendary Oscar nominated and Emmy Award winner Telly Savalas, Ariana continues her dad’s legacy of mutual love between artist and audience.
This seductive chanteuse captivates her listeners as she sings her way through classics of the Great American Songbook. Adding to this young singer’s successes is her dynamic songwriting talent.
Her new album “Sophisticated Lady” highlights her fluidity between music of jazz greats like David Frishberg and Duke Ellington and her own creations of poppy jazz confections. A music video for the song “Perfect Man,” an original pop composition on the new CD written by Ariana and produced by nine-time Grammy nominated Mark Portmann showcases Ariana and television star Eric Dane exploring the challenges of modern relationships.
She has captivated audiences across the country in appearances in some of the nation’s poshest clubs like Herb Alpert’s Vibrato in Beverly Hills, Feinstein’s and Birdland in New York and Palm Beach’s Royal Room. In addition to her musical talents, Ariana is a gifted actress who most recently guest starred on the hit television series Criminal Minds. After seeing Ariana’s in concert, Variety’s late Army Archerd lovingly wrote, “As Telly would have said, ‘Who loves ya, baby?’ They all did.”
