Monique Smith Promoted to Media Coordinator at CNN

MONIQUE SMITH, 2000 WCOPA multi-medalist female model champ, received her third promotion since starting at CNN in 2007. As the new Media Coordinator, she is responsible for ensuring the editorial and technical quality of all video content that comes into CNN daily and making sure those feeds are ingested into massive digital recording systems. She now communicates with different assignment desks, show teams, field producers and bureaus to confirm accurate information for all videos that are received. After graduating with a 4.0 on a full scholarship from the University of Florida, she cast for the MTV reality show “Ink” and Sean Coombs “Making of the Band” and then became the media representative on the first BET “Hip Hop Awards.” Her ultimate goal is to produce her own talk show! Monique’s proud mom, LAMA SMITH, is the Caribbean Regional Director and an International Representative for WCOPA.
