WCOPA NATIONAL DIRECTOR - KARIN MARTIN GOMEZ

My name is Karin Martin Gomez and I’m the National Director and Licensee of The World Championships of Performing Arts for Austria.

In my family performing arts always have been a very important part.

My father was a musician playing the piano (his first soloist concert in the famous Vienna Music Hall he had with 13 years), Cello and violin (playing with Vienna Symphonic Orchestra). He also studied singing and was working as a choir and symphonic orchestra constructor his whole life.

So I grew up with music, learned to Play flute and piano and was singing for many years in my father's choir- I studied ballet and made my dancing teacher licence for Jazzdance, Modern Dance and Ballet and ran a Dance School together with a friend and professional ballet dancer. I studied Ballroom Dancing for some years where I came up to Gold Star Level in Latin American and Standard Dances.

I found out what WCOPA means when my two daughters started as contestants for Team Austria in July 2015 for the first time. I was so excited about the high Level of all contestants and this international feeling was great !!

This is an experience for everybody competing there - be judged by people out of the business who know what needs an artist. In 2016 and 2017 I was working for WCOPA as a Team Manager for Austria under the direction of the National Director for Middle Europe and I am now the official licenced National Director for the Austrian Team.
